Anne Rice Talks New Vampire Chronicles TV Series via Live Stream Q&A

Hey guys! With The Vampire Diaries ending soon. I’ve been toying with ideas on how I might continue running VDO, and I think I’ve pretty much made up my mind. First thing I’m going to do is cover any cast related projects that our beloved cast will be working on. New projects they are acting in, producing or directing. The second thing, is I will be covering any new TV shows coming up that are vampire or fantasy/sci-fi related. Vampire Diaries alum, Arielle Kebbel is starring in a new TV series on NBC called Midnight Texas, which will be based on the book series by Charlaine Harris, premiere date has yet to be released. There is also talk of iZombie creator, Rob Thomas bringing The Lost Boys to the CW, so we are following that as well. As well as a new Charmed reboot.

But one of the latest announcements that has us really excited is that Anne Rice and her son Christopher will be co-writing the script for a pilot based on her Vampire Chronicles book series. Still no word of what network it will be on, but last night Anne did a live stream Q&A session about it, and you can watch below! Can wait for this!

Ruthie took her passion for The Vampire Diaries books and started Vampire Diaries Online in February 2009. After 10 years online, she continues to engage with fellow TVD fans here and on Twitter, sharing in the love of The Vampire Diaries. #TVDForever

  1. Sounds great, excellent idea! I’m so very happy that you are interested in keeping this going, Ruthie! Yay! :)

Also, Vampire Chronicles — yes please!! :)

  2. P.S. There are vampires in Shadowhunters! Season 2 just started, and I have a feeling it might be even more amazing than the first season..! :)

Shadowhunters has kind of taken that spot in my heart that TVD used to have. I’m still watching TVD, but… it’s so different nowadays, has sadly lost so much of what I used to absolutely love about it. I’m honestly more excited about re-watching earlier seasons of TVD (still love them to bits!) than the current one. Regardless, I’ll definitely keep watching until the very end :)

  3. I love how excited they are about this project, but we should keep in mind there’s a world in between shopping the pilot around and actually getting some network’s attention. It could literally take ages.

That said, I’d give an arm and a leg to see Lestat and Nicolas relationship on screen.
