Via TV Guide:

How long before everyone finds out that Stefan is really Silas?
Truth be told, I don’t think it’ll be too long. I think that there’s more fun to be played with people learning quickly, but independently of the other so there’s a lot of good bait-and-switch Katherine-style stuff that could happen early in the season. And people that know Stefan well will be able to catch on pretty quickly I would hope.

Can we expect double Paul Wesley scenes?
Part of the fun of having an actor play two roles are those opportunities to put them face to face, but they’re difficult to shoot and they take a lot of time and the stuff we do even with Katherine and Elena we do so sparingly. So we’ll definitely see it, but of course Stefan will be on his own journey presumably at the bottom of the [lake] floor so we’ll see when and who gets him out of that mess.

TVLINE | Speaking of, why Damon? What were you hoping to get to explore in Elena choosing Damon?
Damon’s a character who’s been driven by feeling like he’s not worthy of love. Now that he’s on the receiving end of that love, what will that mean for him? And where will he have to make changes in him, in his behavior? Or will he still be, “I am who I am. You love me for who I am. I’m not going to change for you”? It’ll be a fun dynamic to see him either trying to exercise restraint or not being able to exercise restraint in the name of love of this girl, especially as he’s got a new houseguest. He’s [living] with Jeremy Gilbert as Elena goes off to college.

Via EW:

Did you start the season knowing that you were going to end it with Bonnie dying?
Interestingly enough, that was a pitch that was on the table for the finale last year. For us, it’s always been a question of how much we want to show of the other side. And is there an entire world that we can play over there, or do we really want to keep everything grounded in a real world universe. Having Jeremy able to see ghosts and now Bonnie over on the other side, it felt like an exciting complication to a budding romantic relationship that we were looking forward to playing in that. And also relieving ourselves of the burden — as Kevin [Williamson] calls it, the witch storytelling burden — which is that when you have a witch, they should be able to fix all the problems, but if they could fix all the problems, then you’re not telling the story. But if they can’t fix the problems, then they’re really bad witches. [Laughs] So it’s a nice relief from that for a while.

How much will we see of Kat Graham next season?
She will be a regular. She will be around. If anything, we’ll see as much if not more of her. And it gives us a great way to develop more stories for her outside of just her being the witch that comes in and tries to save the day. I’m excited about the opportunity to tell a romantic relationship between two people who can’t physically be together. Talk about your hurdles.

  1. Are Nina dobreve and Ian having relationship problems? Is that why she isn’t with Stefan anymore ?! It’s weird how as Katherine stabbed her she was thinking of stefan though. I can’t wait for season 5. I’m a big fan and I’ve seen every episode every Thursday.

  2. @nicole… I don’t think the point was for Elena to be thinking about Stefan it was to show that she ended up in possession of the cure and therefore that is how she was able to slam it into Kat’s mouth. I believe Nina And Ian did break up in real life but that had no impact on the show or its storylines so no worries:) I have’t missed an epi either! Can’t wait til October!

  3. Jeremy living with Damon? That does not make much sense : he surely would prefer to end up with Matt and Tyler at the big Loockwood domain (Tyler did not graduate, he might stick to town instead of going to college). Not sure Jeremy will enjoy being babysitted, and absolutely sure Damon will not be trilled with the job.

  4. Jenna was communting to classes the first season, why couldn’t Elena, Caroline and Jeremy rent a place together? Seems weird that the brother Elena went bonkers w/o isn’t even going to live near her or that she’d move away from Damon. The Salvatorre house is huge, she often spent the night with Stefan, Elena living there and Jeremy living with Matt makes more sense. I assume Tyler will compel himself a diploma the way Elena will compel herself a college acceptance.

  5. I hate Elena. Love Stefan. I hate that she chose Damon, but I knew she would. I really really hope they don’t put her and Stefan back together let.Damon have her

  6. An impressive share! I have just forwarded this onto a co-worker who has been conducting a little homework on
this. And he in fact bought me breakfast because I stumbled upon it for him.
.. lol. So allow me to reword this…. Thanks for the meal!
! But yeah, thanks for spending some time to talk about this
    matter here on your site.

  7. Now that Elena choose Damon, is the triangle over with now. I know that Stefan told Damon that they have to stop falling for the same girl.

  8. @Donna, I feel your pain. Delena sucks, to say the least. I don’t think the triangle is over, remember this show is premised on it and there are 2 more seasons. Stefan saying he wants to move on and him actually doing it when he still loves Elena is going to be very difficult, although he may be distracted for a while with him being Silas’ doppleganger and that whole thing evolving. I love Damon, he is hilarious but I just find find him suited to Elena. Damon needs someone like Rose, they made a good pair.
@Melissa, I agree, it’s kinda wierd that Jeremy will be living with Damon. We all know Damon cares zero for little Gilbert.
Bonnie’s death was just tragic, it really broke my heart.
