Vampire Diaries Casting – Robert Ri’chard Will Be Bonnie’s New Love Interest

Via E!Online:

Robert Ri’chard (played Mason on Veronica Mars) is taking on the potentially recurring role of Jamie when the hit show returns in January.

Viewers will meet Jamie in episode 12, when Bonnie and Elena (Nina Dobrev) go on a little road trip. Described as handsome (obviously) and a little rough around the edges, Bonnie immediately takes an interest in Jamie. Get it, gurl!

Also set to appear in episode 12? Bonnie’s mother Abby Bennett, who will be played by Girlfriends star Persia White (EW first reported the casting). Coincidence? We think not! We’re hearing Jamie definitely has a connection with Abby…just not one of the love variety. Something they share in common? They’re both hot and troubled! You see, Abby is burdened by the secrets of her past that led her to leave her daughter.

  1. LOVE HIM! can’t wait. pooooor jeremy. this is what you get for still being in love with your ghost vampire girlfriend :\ so tragic

  2. sad that the bonnie/jeremy relationship did not last very long but i look forward to seeing how this all plays out.

  3. Me thinks that the Jeremy and Bonnie thing is not over….she is hurt and in need of distraction….and finally some diverted fun outside of mystic falls….but this dude is of the same character as Jeremy “troubled and full of secrets”
so she will find it in her heart to go back to what she saved……but not till episode 13 lol….after all these new characters that Vampire Diaries are casting don’t last longer than an episode or two……

  4. Kind of seems like a redo of Mika or whatever the name of the warlock boy that Damon burned was. Why do they keep burning through all the pairings so fast? Caroline and Matt, over. Caroline and Tyler, over. Bonnie and Jeremey, over. Hard to believe these are the former Dawson’s Creek writers. With that show every wet dream was discussed, on TVD they never give details on anything. It would give the show a longer life if they let real life give some complications instead of always shoving the year’s “big bad” into every episode.

  5. I totally agree with Melissa. I believe the writers should allow the character to grow in the real life instead of showing just their past. We need more details to the romance in the story, for all the characters. For instance Bonnie and Jeremy I wanted to feel sad for their break up. But really you didn’t give us enough time to see their relationship grow. The way I see it, it was over before it began. But I hope their love story don’t end but continue with more passion more desire. What makes this show good is the fact that is a love story filled with heartache and tragedy and sacrifice. But like always love is what makes everything worth it in the end.

  6. Melissa and Felicia make a valid pt…..things happen way to quickly and …they make such hype about casting new members then they are taken away faster than you can blink NOT FARE !!!!!!

  7. I want Bonnie and Jeremy back together! She has to cut him some slack, Jeremy never really got over Anna- they didnt break up, she died. So he was having trouble getting rid of all his old feelings for her. Anyway hope that Bonnie either uses this guy to make Jeremy jealous- she doesn’t actually like him, or decides that she wants to go back to Jeremy. <3 Bonnie and Jeremy :)

  8. The Vampire Diaries is my favorite show, and I make it a point to watch it every week. However, the show is starting to feel a little chaotic, don’t get me wrong, the show is terrific, but the storylines seem to be all over the place. Season 1&2 were unbelievably good! I think that Nina should have been nominated for an emmy for her dual role. The Stefan/Elena/Damon love triangle was great to watch. The little side story of Bonnie and Damon developing a grudgingly respect for one another was awesome to watch. It was all good. So far, Season 3 has not lived up to the last two seasons. I’m sorry to say that I have been spoiled. Please bring back the energy and tone of Season 1&2. As the saying goes,”if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” And lastly, I miss Taylor Kinney so much. Is there a way to bring Uncle Mason back to life, maybe Bonnie can do one of her “little witchy” spells:)
