Raffi Barsoumian is set for a major recurring role on the CW’s most watched series, The Vampire Diaries. He will play Markos, an imposing and charismatic presence with supernatural origins. Barsoumian, repped by Gartner/Green and attorney Mitch Smelkinson, spent the last three seasons at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival before moving to LA last month.

Thanks E!Online, we have some scoop on two new casting for The Vampire Diaries! Hellcats alum, Heather Hemmens will be joining the show as Maggie, a love interest for Enzo, and Chris Brochu is set to play, Luke a student from Whitemore who befriends Elena, Caroline and Bonnie, but has a secret agenda.

Hellcats star Heather Hemmens and Chris Brochu have both been cast in roles on The Vampire Diaries, E! News has exclusively learned, and fans of the CW hit series will definitely be intrigued by both of the new characters’ connections to our favorite vampires.

Hemmens, who recently appeared on Grey’s Anatomy, will take on the role of Maggie, Enzo’s (Michael Malarkey) love interest, while Brochu will play the fun and charming Luke, a student at Whitmore college who bonds with Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Caroline (Candice Accola). But relax, Delena, Stelena, Klaroline and Forwood fans because there’s no chance for romance between Luke and one of the ladies as he’s gay. Aso, he has a secret agenda.

michael-malarkey-vampire-diaries-castingThanks to Deadline we have some scoop on a new casting. Michael Malarkey will be joining the cast as Enzo, an old friend from Damon’s past.

After casting the young actor as the male lead Prince Maxon in the second Selection pilot this past season, the network has tapped Malarkey for a major recurring role on veteran drama The Vampire Diaries. He will play Enzo, a charismatic but tortured figure from Damon’s past who arrives in Mystic Falls desperate to reconnect with his old friend. His first episode airs Dec. 5. American-born and raised Malarkey, repped by Silver Lining Entertainment and UK’s Hatton Mcewan Penford, studied at London’s LAMDA and has been working in the UK since.

The Vampire Diaries has cast Australian newcomer Rick Cosnett to play Caroline and Elena’s newest foe, Dr. Wes Maxfield, TVGuide.com has learned.

As we previously teased, Dr. Maxfield is a brilliant — and somewhat cocky — professor at Whitmore College, and after meeting him, Caroline (Candice Accola) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) begin to think he’s hiding a dark and dangerous secret. If any of the show’s past teachers (ahem, Alaric and Professor Shane) are any indication, we’re guessing Maxfield is fully aware of the vampires lurking around town.

We can exclusively reveal that CW vet Shaun Sipos (Life UnexpectedMelrose Place) has been cast on The Vampire Diaries as a new recurring character in season five.

Sipos will play Aaron, who comes to college to escape his tortured past. It’s there that he meets Elena, and the two will bond over the fact that they’ve both experience and survived dark family tragedies. Elena attracted to a brooding and handsome stranger? Color us shocked! But also color us intrigued, please.

Janina Gavankar is trading one blood-sucking drama for another.

The ex-True Blood shape-shifter has booked a potentially recurring gig on Season 5 of The Vampire Diaries, TVLine has learned exclusively.

Gavankar will play Tessa, a beautiful, exotic and self-assured woman who comes to Mystic Falls to rekindle an old flame.

She first appears in the CW series’ third episode, which is also a flashback hour, as executive producer Caroline Dries recently revealed to TVLine. Could Tessa have some serious history with a resident vamp?

Sampson will play Jesse, a fellow student who Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Caroline (Candice Accola) meet on their first at Whitmore College. As we first reported in Mega Buzz, Jesse will catch Caroline’s eye. Meanwhile, Russian-born Fonda will play a mysterious European beauty who follows Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Matt (Zach Roerig) back to Mystic Falls. Both characters will first appear in the season premiere.

Spartacus: War of the Damned actress Cynthia Addai-Robinson will play Aja, a powerful witch, with a connection to Bonnie’s mother, who comes to Mystic Falls to help Bonnie control her magic. Seeing as Jeremy is (most likely) dead, does this mean that the only other person with the ability to guide Bonnie with her magic, Professor Shane, is also about to croak?
