cynthia-addai-robinson-vampire-diaries-castingTV Guide is exclusively reporting that Cynthia Addai-Robinson has joined the cast of The Vampire Diaries as Bonnie’s new mentor, Aja (pronounced ASIA). She will appear in the March 21st episode.

Spartacus: War of the Damned actress Cynthia Addai-Robinson will play Aja, a powerful witch, with a connection to Bonnie’s mother, who comes to Mystic Falls to help Bonnie control her magic. Seeing as Jeremy is (most likely) dead, does this mean that the only other person with the ability to guide Bonnie with her magic, Professor Shane, is also about to croak?

Thanks to TV Guide for the heads up! Twilight’s Charlie Bewley is coming to Mystic Falls! Camille Guaty of Prison Break has also been cast. They have been cast in recurring roles as Vaughn and Caitlin. TV Guide has the info, check it out!

Camille Guaty and Charlie Bewley will guest-star in at least two episodes of The Vampire Diaries, TVGuide.com has learned.

Guaty, whose credits include Prison Break andLas Vegas, will play Caitlin, a woman from Professor Shane’s (David Alpay) past. Shane has been helping Bonnie (Kat Graham) to relearn her magic, but he might be bad news, considering it was he who sent vampire hunter Connor (Todd Williams) to Mystic Falls.

Meanwhile, Bewley, who portrayed vampire Demetri in the Twilight films, will play Vaughn. Details about his role — other than he’s tough and rugged — are being kept under wraps, but considering Klaus (Joseph Morgan) & Co. are in search of the vampire hunters, we’re guessing (and hoping!) he’ll be one of The Five they’ve been seeking.

Both actors will first appear in Episode 13, with the potential to return for more. Do you think the new additions are good or bad news?

Thanks to TV Guide for the heads up! It looks like we will finally get to meet Bonnie’s dad. Rick Worthy has been cast as Rudy Hopkins. He will first appear in episode 10. So what do you guys think? Good casting? Here’s some more info via TV Guide.

Rick Worthy has been cast on The Vampire Diaries as Rudy Hopkins, the estranged father to witch Bonnie (Kat Graham), TVGuide.com has learned.

“It’s time!” executive producer Julie Plec told us in June when we asked about Daddy Bennett’s arrival. “This year is a big year of transitions. It’s the end of senior year, and there’s a rich home life for everybody we’re going to explore.”

Worthy, who makes his debut in the 10th episode, has previously appeared on CSIHeroes and Battlestar Galactica.

Thanks to Alloy for the heads up! We have learned that Paul Telfer has been cast as a vampire hunter named Alexander that we will see in a flashback and has a special connection to Rebekah. Sounds intriguing…the info below about his character is quite spoilery, so beware.

via Alloy’s Vampire Diaries Website:

The Scottish hunk, who hails from the same hometown as 300 star Gerard Butler, has snagged the role of Alexander who is described as “rugged, handsome and charismatic.” Honestly, after taking a look at Paul and his muscular arms, we couldn’t think of a more fitting man to tackle all the demands of slaying sharp-toothed, bloodthirsty creatures. Plus, it’s been reported that he has some mysterious connections to Rebekah which may very well be of the romantic variety. Yes, word on the street is that the hunter finds himself quite taken by the gorgeous Bex. (A blonde, vulnerable beauty and her brawny, long-haired warrior — oh be still our hearts!)

Thanks to TV Guide for this latest bit of Vampire Diaries casting news! David Alpay (The Borgias) has been cast to play Professor Shane, someone that has a history with Bonnie and her family. Here’s the scoop!

The Borgias‘ David Alpay has joined the cast of The Vampire Diaries in a recurring role, TVGuide.com has learned.

Alpay will portray Professor Shane, an attractive and charismatic believer in the occult who has a history with Bonnie Bennett (Katerina Graham) and her family.

E!Online has gotten word that The Secret Circle’s Phoebe Tonkin has been cast in a recurring role for The Vampire Diaries. I am extremely excited about this news! Can not wait to see Phoebe in action and I have complete faith she will do an amazing job! Phoebe will be playing Hayley, a friend of Tyler’s. Check out the the scoop!

Secret Circle fan favorite Phoebe Tonkin has landed a recurring gig on The Vampire Diaries.

We’ve learned that Tonkin is set to take on the role of Hayley, a wild friend from Tyler’s (Michael Trevino), who is described as free-spirited and extremely sexy (obviously, have you seen Tonkin?!)

Tonkin will first appear in episode three of the new season when Hayley pays Tyler a surprise visit. Watch out, Caroline (Candice Accola)!

TV Guide is reporting that The Vampire Diaries has cast The Nine Lives of Chloe King Alum, Grace Phipps. She will play the character, April. Here’s the rest of the casting scoop!

The Vampire Diaries‘ Elena Gilbert may be gaining a new ally.

The Nine Lives of Chloe King alum Grace Phipps has been cast on the CW series as April, a natural beauty with a bit of an edge, TVGuide.com has learned. April has some history with both Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), but Elena will try to protect her from the supernatural secrets of Mystic Falls.

Grace will make her first appearance in The Vampire Diaries Episode 4.02.

Zap2It is reporting that The Vampire Diaries has just cast Todd Williams as the new big bad vampire hunter named Connor.

With our old favorite “Vampire Diaries” hunter currently hovering around in ghost world, it’s time for a new slayer to come to town. Zap2it has learned that “The Chicago Code’s” Todd Williams has been cast as Connor, who executive producer Julie Plec describes as “a mysterious and powerful new vampire hunter who comes to Mystic Falls.”
