BloodyNightCon: Fundraising Campaign for the IS Foundation

A trio of amazing young women, Alex, Erika and Laura, emailed me today about a really cool idea they came up with. They will be attending the BloodyNightCon Vampire Diaries convention in Barcelona, Spain, and decided to create an initiative to raise money for the Ian Somerhalder Foundation. They are planning to present Ian with the donation at the convention, and have gotten the permission from BloodyNightCon and the Ian Somerhalder Foundation to make their idea a reality. So with that said, if you are going to BloodyNightCon (you don’t have to be going, anyone can donate) and would like to participate in this really cool initiative, please head on over to their donation site and make a donation. “Be My Valentine and Donate to Help Heal the World!”

In the spirit of unity, the Ian Somerhalder Foundation (IS Foundation) is collaborating with PeaceKeeper Cause-Metics to raise funds to heal our planet! Join our cause by donating to our Valentine’s Day Charity Auction. All funds raised will be shared equally between the two organizations and donated to urgent environmental and human rights issues.

The largest auction donor will win a juicy IS Foundation Gift Basket which includes:

  • An official personal message from Ian to YOU.
  • An IS Foundation t-shirt, gym bag, cap, and some oh-so-sexy undies.
  • Two tickets for a tour of Mystic Falls (provided by Mystic Falls Tours), the fictional city and setting of Ian’s hit TV show The Vampire Diaries.(transportation not included)

IS Foundation In Need of Highly Skilled Flash Animator

Listen up peeps! Want your chance to work with Ian Somerhalder’s Foundation? Well, we just got word that ISF is looking for a highly skilled Flash Animator who would be interested in working on a multimedia project as a volunteer with Ian Somerhalder (ISF).

If you are skilled in flash animation, can create detailed animations and would like to contribute to a powerful ISF project, send an email to getinvolved@isfoundation.com. Be sure to put - Flash Animator in the subject field including samples of your work. Good luck!

The Ian Somerhalder Foundation has asked us to spread the word about Member’s Project sponsored by Take Part and American Express. Every 3 months, 5 charities will receive a total of $1,000,000 funding from American Express. And here’s where YOU come in. Please head on over and nominate the Ian Somerhalder Foundation.

Here’s what you need to fill in:

  • Organization Name: Ian Somerhalder Foundation
  • Location: International
  • Email Address: Your email address goes here.
  • Comments: Give them some info as to why you think the Ian Somerhalder Foundation deserves to be nominated.

And that’s it for now! We need to get enough nominations so the Ian Somerhalder Foundation will be listed as one of the charities. Then once it is listed, we will be able to vote ONCE per WEEK until February 27th, 2011 and new winners will be announced every 3 months. So let’s do this! In support of the Ian Somerhalder Foundation and St. Tammany Humane Society, my good friends Romancia and Marilyn have teamed up to create this awesome site GenerationExtinction.com. If you are wondering, “Where have I heard that before? Generation Extinction…” Well, the phrase was coined by Ian in article from Zap2It in this quote:

There’s Generation X. There’s Generation Y. This generation is Generation Extinction. This generation holds that in their hands – the responsibility of it, and the power to change it. They have the ability to make the changes for themselves and for their environment. It’s pretty badass, if you think about how much they can do.”

And speaking of badass, check out these awesome T-shirts that Romancia designed herself. They are currently taking pre-orders and all the proceeds will go to benefit IS Foundation and it’s current benefactor St. Tammany Humane Society. Ian Somerhalder Foundation Official Website – How YOU can help!

As we mentioned before, Ian Somerhalder has been working diligently to launch his own foundation. First he launched his birthday page, now the time has come. The official Ian Somerhalder Foundation website has been launched. Check it out!

The IS FOUNDATION aims to empower, educate and collaborate with people and projects to positively impact the planet and its creatures.

We are a team, a group of people who view the environment as an interconnected organism, of which we are not separate, but a apart of. There is no differentiation between all living things: trees, rivers, animals and humans. We are all one interdependent organism.

While you are at it, please be sure to follow the official Facebook page and Twitter, and Ian periodically posts blog articles on Huffington Post, you can follow him there as well.

Want to know how YOU can get GET INVOLVED? Click HERE to find out. I’ve received many emails about project ideas, and the previous link is exactly where you can got to submit your ideas.
