Yesterday Nina Dobrev made an appearance to for Project Pink Day in NYC at the Puma Store in Union Square. It was announced back in July that she would be the face of Puma’s Project Pink supporting Breast Cancer Awareness. Fans flocked to watch Nina arrive on the pink carpet, and got the chance to meet her up close and personal, shake her hand and get an autograph. Here are a few shots from Nina’s arrival, during the autograph signing and leaving the store. You can view many more over at Nina Dobrev Network! Thanks to Vampire-Diaries.net for the head up on this news! Nina Dobrev has been officially announced as the face of Puma’s Project Pink 2011 for breast cancer research. Here is some info about what Nina will be doing:
PUMA is excited to announce that actress Nina Dobrev is lending her support, alongside some of the best women’s soccer athletes in the world, to Project Pink 2011. As one of Project Pink’s supporters, the Vampire Diaries star will appear in the program’s Public Service Announcement, act as a media spokesperson, make appearances in support of the initiative, and engage with fans throughout the season via her Twitter handle, @ninadobrev.
“I’m truly excited for the opportunity to work on this season’s Project Pink initiative,” said Dobrev. “I love that it truly empowers young women to get involved and make a difference. Plus, I’ve always been an athlete, so I jumped on the chance to stand alongside and in support of some of these amazing female soccer players.” Dobrev, a former gymnast, is a natural fit for the PUMA brand, which celebrates the active lifestyle and supports the health and well-being of women worldwide.
Also, Puma has launched their Tweet Better, Do-Gooder campaign, here are the details:

And finally, with an eye to spreading the word even further and offering up yet another easy way for fans to contribute – no purchase, cheering section, or soccer skills required – PUMA is bringing back its popular Twitter hash tag, #projectpink.
Tweet #projectpink between July 6 and October 31, and, counting one tweet per user per day, PUMA will donate an additional $1, up to $25,000, to the ultimate beneficiary.
We should have posted about this 5 days ago, but better late than never. Less than 14 hours left to bid on an autographed bear signed by Paul Wesley in support of Breast Cancer Awareness sponsored by Lisa Walks.
Here is some info about what she does:
My name is Lisa and every year I walk in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer…. a 2-day, marathon-and-a-half walk to raise money and awareness to fight breast cancer.
One of the ways I raise money is to ask celebrities to sign little tags that I attach to breast cancer bears and auction off along with a picture of the celebrity with a bear.
Also, the winner of the auction not only receives the autographed bear and a photo of Paul, but Lisa is throwing in a photo of Ian Somerhalder (2006) as well.
Vampire-Diaries.net has been keeping a close eye on the auction, and has all the information you need including the link to the auction. So please head on over there and get to bidding!!
