Read 1st 7 Chapters of Stefan’s Diaries Origins Plus Bloodlust Cover

Thanks to Harperteen and Vampire-Diaries.net for the heads up! Harperteen has released the first 7 chapters of Stefan’s Diaries Vol 1: Origins, the first volume in the book series based on The Vampire Diaries TV show mythology, FREE for your reading pleasure. The book is scheduled for release on November 2, 2010, and it will also be available on Kindle and audio book (narrated by Kevin T. Collins). I’m still wondering who is doing the actual writing of these books? At Harperteen it says by L.J. Smith, Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson. On the cover, it just says “based on the novels by L.J. Smith and the TV series developed by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec.”

Also, check out the new cover art for Vol 2 of the series, this time we have Damon on the cover. Bloodlust is set for release on January 4th, 2011. Both novels can be pre-ordered on Amazon (only Origins is available in paperback form, will update as soon as Bloodlust is available) Click the links below!

  1. im confused…

are these like the vampire diaries from stefans and damons point of view?? or are they just the books vampire diaries with their faces on the cover???

    can u clarify for me??

  2. there vampire diaries from stefans veiw the second book is about damon so hes on the cover

  3. Hmm- I got the impression the entire trilogy was from Stefan’s point of view…if you like Stefan, could be a good thing. Me personally? I’ll pass.

  4. The trilogy is Stefan’s Diaries and it is all from his point of view. Apparently they are written by a ghost writer, so there will be no name. The writer is basing the trilogy on the characters from the tv show, which is why the pictures are of Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley. Nothing like the original L J Smith books
Whatever the writer is putting in the books, has nothing to do with the television series. Sounds like the makings of confusion to me. I agree with vamp lover, I’ll pass.

  5. This series does tie into the show. This is Stefan and Damon’s story through Stefan’s point of view from the show, not the books.

  6. I just finished reading the book, “Origins”, and there are so many diffrences in this book that don’t follow along with how they wrote the first Vampire Diaries book, “The Awakening and the Struggle”. I have never seen the series on TV so I’m not sure how closely that show follows the book but it is very obvious that this writer choose a diffrent story line. I was so confused and kept thinking, thats not what Stefan told Elana, thats not what Katherine told the group. thats not where he grew up, she had a father, she didn’t die like that, they didn’t become vampires like that. Where is the sword fight? I’m so confused as to why any writer would diviate so far from the original authors story.
