Funny you should ask, because we served up that exact question to Daniel Gillies when we chatted with him about a cause close to his heart. “I can’t say,” he says of a possible Elijah-Alaric face-off. “But at this stage, if you were Elijah, wouldn’t you just want to get the hell out of a place causing so many problems? Elijah really has a thing for Elena if he’s sticking around.” Maybe Elena’s choice is…Elijah?! We ship it.

But on the season finale, Elena and Matt’s impending accident will seem oddly reminiscent of the Gilbert family crash — including who saves them.
I think Elena gets amnesia. Matt dies.
Elena hit her head pretty bad like twice, first when Kol threw her, then Klaus.
The flashback….It could be that she made the choice and told Matt. But because she gets amnesia and Matt dies, no one knows. LOL
So the triangle gets a new start. No bad memories, no history. Both Salvatores get an equal shot to win the girl.
if in the flashback it somehow tarnishes the fact that Stefan saved Elena in someway i will be thouroughly pissed.
I won’t be very happy if Stefan compells elena an I hope there not in her house considering Stefan couldn’t get in on the first episodes he had to be let in an unless they can ecplain that it wouldn’t make since he could get in then couldn’t later.
All facts and pictures seems like she will choose Stefan. Stefan went back to see if she is all right.
But I will hope for Damon and Elena to the last moment ;-)
