and as for Elena wanting to be a Vampire dear lord that girls is fickle….in second season she wanted nothing to do with it ………………IS THIS THE SIRE WANTING IT ?????????
@lynn, I think and this is just me, who doesn’t usually give Elena much of a break ;), but Julie said this was a coming of age story so I get the feeling Elenea grew into being a vampire and realizes there is no going back. Like the girl who goes to college because he roarents made her, calls her mom crying daily that it’s awful she hates it, but come Christmas break realizes she misses school, and doesnt really fit at home anymore. she became a new self and found that she likes it even if her old friends don’t approve.
@Ruthie, the only other bombshell I could come up with was Elena is pregnant, but I am totally joking with that.
@ Melissa yes you are right on that note…..but on the other hand Caroline came to grips with it alot more realistically than Elena…….. I don’t like the way the writers (notice I said writers not Elena) just dismissed Stefan as her epic love……null and void in a split second…….that’s not amplification of what Elena used to be it’s more Elena becoming very selfish with her vampirism…………like I said the writers did a better job with Caroline’s change……
@Lynn, my theory is that while Elena’s feelings for Damon are real, the sire bond caused her to forget she loved Stefan sooooo much. That lovingDamin was on her, but loving only him was to make him happy. In the end, instead of making her human again, Bonnie will use expression to break the sire bond and Elena will then finally be equally in love with both brothers and have to pick again. The first time it was pretty skewed towards Stefan, so this was their way of making it equal. While I would like to see Delena get equal time, I don’t know how they would insert Stefan in to keep it a triangle and Elena can’t have a final answer until the final episode ever. The only solution was to Do this.
Personally I thought Caroline transitioned too easily. Granted Elena’s whining at the start of this season had me hitting mute every time she opened her mouth, but Caroline had one iffy moment where she danced with Matt and had to breathe through it then everything was fine for her. Her struggle was more her parents’ reaction than growing pains. I also think she changed a lot. She was so insecure and emotional, things Stefan told her would be magnified but they dropped that and had her find her strength and confidence. I enjoyed watching Elena have to learn to be a real vampire and fight her cravings, I just didn’t want all the poor me crying that went with it.
@lynn, made this separate so as not to have a huge post. What you said about the writers and Stelena…I have long felt they failed Stelena. So if my theory on why the triangle is so much about Damon is wrong, I am not surprised that they would fail Stelena’s end too.
It seems to me like they flipped things. It is bizarro world of season one. Then she came out of the crash and fell for Stefan. Now she came out and fell for Damin, making Stefan the guy who wants the girl who loves another and will persue any means to get her back. Like Damon trying to free Katherine from the tomb in season one.
@ Melissa make sense what you said …………so in season five who will be pursuing whome????? It would not make for good ratings if the writers didn’t switch it again yes??? I for one think that the writers should have continued the cat and mouse game going ….. now that the cat caught the mouse I am bored………so what I should think happen is for Katherine to come back as the cat or maybe the mouse yes?????and with what brother????
@Lynn, but in the case of Delena, the cat really doesn’t have the mouse because he doubts what she feels. They’re using the sire bond to have Delena together without actually having them together. I think they’ll drag out the uncertainty with them while Stefan mourns the loss of his human Elena for the rest of this season until the bond is broken. I was bored with the cat and mouse that lasted so long and am still interested in seeing how Delena would be as a couple who actually got to bet together.
As for Stefan, I’d love to see them explore who he is w/o Elena and show him grieivng her loss (becasue his Elena really did die) and getting to be the juicy jealous guy like Damon was. Let him find a new love and show how Elena reacts to that while she’s with Damon. Have Damon realizes she still loves Stefan too and take it from there.
My honest VD end scenario is that like the books, unfortunately, she’ll pick both by dying to save them so that neither has her but they still have each other.
Julie has said Katherine won’t be back so long as Klaus is in town…I would REALLY love to see them turn Klaus human and have Katherine turnup to break his neck for killing her family. Elena could do it too, but that’s not in her character.
If Katherine gets a Salvatorre, I think it should be Stefan. She said she loved him more, she got him to feel for Damon last season. Season 2 I wanted them to explore what Stefan loved, the girl or the face and they didn’t. So it would be interesting to me to see him faced with falling for Katherine all over again, this time knowing what she was.
@ Melissa ….you certainly have brought up some valid points….and yes I do agree that Stefan needs role reversal for this season and next…..”the jelouse ripper” the thing is his first love a mere 165 years ago was the face of “Katherine” only to find her again in this century with all the characteristics that he would have wanted Katherine to be in Elena ……so Stefan moving forward with someone else is not going to happen unless he leaves Mystic Falls….. so your last point Katherine getting the right Salvatore brother would be fantastic and “Damon”whome we know ripped heaven and earth to find her ….. well now there is a thought for an interesting storyline…..anyway just a pipe dream…….
@lynn, I was not very happy at the start of this season, but they have really opened up a lot of possibilities. I am hoping that they delve I to Stefan this year. I think it would be great to see them show if he can learn to love vampire Elena. I think his big sticking point is that he doesn’t love vampire Stefan, and if you don’t like something about yourself, how can you love someone who shares that trait? So I guess what I want if for single Stefan to work on loving himself and getting control and then learning to love the new Elena.
Meanwhile she can be with Damon;)
Season one I thought Damon was for Katherine, they were so alike and he really loved her and Elena judged him too much. But loving Elena has made Damon less of a villain, which I think Katherine would undo. Actually I don’t think Katherine is a good influence for either brother.
I wish that they could have slowed down Elena and Damon’s first experience together, Damon has wanted her for so long I would like to have seen more emotion on his face of finally having her, maybe just a few gentle moments. I would like to see her love for Damon to be real…I also like the fun Elena I kinda get tired of such a tragic and sad looking teenager.
I would like Aleric to come back, I think he was a strong character and a good mix with Damon.
