Top 5 Reasons TVD Fans Will Fall in Love with Lions and Tigers and Boys

1. The Boys of course…

No YA book series is complete without a couple of hot supernatural dudes. In Lions and Tigers and Boys, those boys are Cai Coppersmith, a tiger shapeshifter, and the hero of book 1, and Leander, a lion shapeshifter, who will be the hero in book 2. Not only are these two best friends, but they are surrogate brothers. Frank, the animal trainer at the circus arts school where they are both enrolled, raised Caiwhen he lost his parents at ten, and rescued Leander from a horrific situation in a traveling circus when he was thirteen.

2. Rich Detailed World Building

In TVD a world full of vampires, and werewolves and witches was created in entertaining lush detail. In Lions and Tigers and Boys, the world is full of magic and shapeshifters in a delightful whimsical setting of the circus arts. Think Cirque du Soleil meets The Wizard of OZ meets Harry Potter.

3. Action packed plot

From the very first page in Lions and Tigers and Boys, we know that there is something mysterious going on. Every page ramps up the mystery and we learn with the heroine Dani Gale that not everything is as it seems at the Oswald Zinzendorf School of Circus Arts. Everything from a shapeshifting tiger lurking in the woods, to an attack by a winged monkey, amps up the action in the book. One reviewer says this “Okay, so Ocean’s Eleven meets The Wizard of Oz . . . at the circus. Is your mind blown?”

4. A Heroine to Root For

Dani Gale just wants to make her mother proud. She promised her mother before she died that she would do whatever she could to become the best high wire performer in the world just like her mother. After she’s rejected by the best circus arts school in the world, Dani thinks that’s it for her, but after a recommendation from her Great Aunt Dottie, she ends up enrolled in an obscure school in Oregon that no one has ever heard of. And then things just get weird from there, and Dani has to figure out how to juggle her studies, her training, and falling for the hottest guy she’s ever seen who very well may be a tiger.

5. Romance, Romance, Romance

TVD wouldn’t be nearly as entertaining or enticing without its romances between Elena and Stefan, as well as Elena and Damon, and the other tantalizing couples that graced the screen. In Lions and Tigers and Boys, the swoon-worthy relationship between Dani and Cai is an exhilarating high wire walk from friends to lovers. The slow burn of their budding love will have readers cheering them on to the finish line.

About Lions and Tigers and Boys:

The last thing a girl as awkward as Dani Gale should be doing is trying to learn the high wire. Yet that’s exactly where Dani ends up—at OZ, the Oswald Zinzendorf School of Circus Arts. Trying to overcome her shyness is near impossible when her new partner—the hottest guy she’s ever laid eyes on, and whose touch seems to give her poise she thought impossible—also seems to be sabotaging her progress.

The last thing Cai Coppersmith needs is a distraction, especially in the form of the new, cute shy girl. He needs to focus on trying not to shape-shift into a tiger on school grounds, and completing his mission to keep Dani from winning the school’s high-wire competition. In fact, the entire safety of OZ is relying on Dani not succeeding. But there’s something about the girl that draws him in. She has magic, he can feel it. So he’ll do what he can to protect her, even if it means pushing her away.

About Tawny Stokes:

Tawny Stokes has always been a writer. From an early age, she’d spin tales of serial killers in love, vampires taking over the world, and sometimes about fluffy bunnies turned bunnicidal maniacs. An honor student in high school, with a penchant for math and English, you’d never know it by the foot high blue Mohawk and Doc Martens, which often got her into trouble. No longer a Mohawk wearer, Tawny still enjoys old school punk rock, trance, zombie movies, teen horror films, and fluffy bunnies. She lives in Canada with her fantastical daughter, two cats, and spends most of her time creating new stories for teens.
