Parade Magazine caught up with Nina Dobrev. Check out what Nina has to say about the upcoming season of The Vampire Diaries.

The cliffhanger this past season was killer—literally! Is there hope for fans of Damon and Bonnie?
“I think they knew I would be doing all of these interviews today, so they didn’t give me the script—I get it tomorrow—so I have no idea what’s happening. Except for the fact that I will be returning, that’s for sure.”

The Other Side is gone, what kind of repercussions will that have?
“Well, for one, when someone dies they’re dead for good, they can’t come back. They’re dead, they’re gone since there’s no place for them to come back from. So that’s going to be one of the main repercussions of the other side disappearing.”

What do you want to see happen for Elena in the upcoming season?
“I don’t know. I’d like to see how she copes and deals with things post-Damon and see how she’s going to be able to move on and if she’ll have a normal life. Everything in Elena’s life is complicated, it’s never easy, everyone’s dying around her.”

TV Guide caught up with Julie Plec recently for some scoop on TVD Season6. TV Line also has more scoop from Julie as well!

Via TV Guide

How long will it be before we find out where Damon and Bonnie have been and presumably when they’ll be back?

Julie Plec: The answer of what happened is part of the season-long mythology, but the mystery of where they are is going to be asked very quickly and answered soon enough to not be frustrating.

Can Elena really move on?

Plec: What happened to her is that in spite of losing her parents and her brother, her aunt, her friends again and again, she lost the person she singularly believed to be the man she was going to spend all of eternity with. I think there’s a special form of grief that comes attached to that, which will be difficult to get past, but also the choices she makes at how to move on will be very interesting to watch.

What coping mechanisms will Elena from The Vampire Diaries be using to deal with the fact she lost Damon (seemingly) forever? –Ana

It sounds like she’ll be burying her nose in the books, of the medical stripe. As indicated by a flurry of recent castings – and likely a pure coincidence now that TVDhas Grey’s Anatomy as a time slot rival — “When we come back, we’ll see that Elena is actively pursuing a degree in pre-med,” show boss Julie Plec told us. “She’s a smart girl, and Elena’s father was a doctor, so she’s trying to figure out how to help people and save people, just as her family did.” And merely as an added bonus, “We’ll meet some hot young pre-med guys and sexy doctors” as she does so.

Via Nylon Magazine:

For six epic seasons, Nina Dobrev has given us an insta-excuse to make absolutely zero plans on Thursday nights in favor of staying in on the couch with a bag of popcorn, and of course, The Vampire Diaries. The long-running CW supernatural series may have made her a star, but as our August cover girl tells writer Ashley Baker, she’s finding plenty of other roles to sink her teeth into these days.

THR has informed us of another new character coming to TVD. Emily C. Chang has been cast to play Ivy. Here are the deets!

The CW drama will be introducing the recurring character of Ivy, described as sweet and sincere. Actress Emily C. Chang, whose credits include Days of Our Lives and Total Recall, has booked the role.

Not much is known about Ivy, only that she’s “the quintessential girl next door with an unexpected wild side” — but knowing Vampire Diaries, the tide will turn sooner rather than later. She will first appear in the sixth-season premiere.
