The Vampire Diaries Coming to ITV2 early 2010

ITV has acquired the rights to new drama The Vampire Diaries, it has been announced.
The Twilight-style series follows two vampire brothers – one good, one evil – who vie for the souls of a high school girl, her friends and family. The cast includes Lost’s Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev of Degrassi: The Next Generation.
Diaries will premiere on US network The CW in September and air on ITV2 in the UK from early 2010.
Under the deal with Warner Bros, ITV has also secured the rights to the fifth movie in the Harry Potter franchise and a slew of other film titles, including Happy Feet and the Batman, Oceans and The Matrix franchises.
ITV2 has also acquired the rights to the upcoming third season of teen drama Gossip Girl.

I thought I’d have to wait like a year or something.
A few months more isn’t that bad.
I cant wait for this to coome out. Honestly I’m dying. They are all amazing cast and they are very talented. I’m glad we get in UK. But its a bummer that we get in 2010. I’m reading the books. I’m on The Return: Nightfall. They are amazing books. Geez its so exciting. Anyone out there who is a fan then please do feel free to talk to me about this coz I love these guys. Oh and the website couldn’t have bee any better. I love the pictures. Nina is so beautiful, Ian and Paul are such Hotties. Gosh I really wish I could meet them. I’m such a fan. x.
Gosh these guys are so cool. Like I said in another commentt. Nina looks gorgeous and Ian and Paul god they make me melt everytime:) They are such Hotties!!! They look so good. Hey i Just bought the first book from the vampire diaries and would like to read all of them before the show airs in the UK can anyone tell me the order of the books plz i have looked on the internet and and keep on finding diffrent responses lol

I read the books and loved them. So, I live in Ireland and I have to wait until January to see it!!! I already watched a few on an American tv station!

i’ve read up to the 4th book and im on the 5th. i have seen clips of vampire diaries on youtube and now cant wait.
i’ve only seen the trailers but not read the books but it looks really good that i might invest in the books and give them a go. love all the vampire culture at the moment. i hope its on soon all this ‘coming soon’ malarchy is rather annoying, it says nothing in the tv mags bout it at all. anyway i cant wait for it to start it looks like a big hit to me. going to look up the books now and see whats occurring!
I have read all the boks a long time ago now. I’m also waiting for Shadow Souls. Can’t wait! The show is coming to UK very soon. Even though I’ve seen all the episodes that have aired in USA. I still can’t wait. I have seen all the first 10 episodes and let me tell you they are brilliant and they get better from what I have heard. I hop all UK fans will love the show as much as I do. x
I am totally addicted to the show and have watched each episode twice so far. I’m going to have another marathon session before episode 11 airs in the US.
As for the UK date, it will be shown on January 24th at 9pm. Definitely watching it again!
have read the first vampire diary book and i loved it i so cannot wait to watch this when it finally comes to the uk, i can’t quite believe how vampire obsessed i have become and finally getting to read these books has only added to my obsession. i’ve also heard of shadow souls and thats sound just as amazing. vampires all the way i love it so much

apparently it starts on itv2 on tuesday 2nd february at 9pm with a double episode
Can’t believe they’ve changed the air date. I was really looking forward to seeing it this Sunday, as I’ve been watching it up to now on my laptop.

@ Rebecca – it’s not a film but a TV show.
Season 1 ends on UK TV on June 29th with the DVD being released on August 23rd.
Season 2 will start in September.

@ Rebecca – Season 2 starts in the US on September 9th but I don’t know when it will start in the UK. I guess it really depends on how quickly ITV2 can acquire the rights to show it.

@ amanda, sarah & deanna – I checked ITV2′s official Facebook page a couple of weeks ago and they said Season 2 will start in the autumn but no official date has been announced yet.
i thought it was ment to be september the 9th but it aint so dont have clue when its starting
@ kevin – September 9th is the date it starts in the US, so it will be back on over there tonight. The UK won’t be showing it for another while.

@ amanda – no date has been officially confirmed yet. The ad was for the autumn schedule, but TVD will definitely be back next month.
