The Originals…has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? Well guess what? It just might happen! TV Guide is reporting that The CW is eyeing the Vampire Diaries spin-off for next season!
Original heartthrob Klaus might be getting his own series.
An upcoming episode of The Vampire Diaries will act as a backdoor pilot for a potential spin-off series that would star Joseph Morgan and focus on the Original family, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
The April 25 episode will follow Klaus back to the supernatural melting pot that is the French Quarter of New Orleans — a town he helped build centuries ago — where he’s reunited with his diabolical former protégé Marcel.
Should the episode prove successful, a spin-off of Diaries would be in consideration for next season that would be written and executive-produced byJulie Plec, alongside Alloy’s Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo. Phoebe Tonkin, who plays werewolf Hayley on Diaries, would also star in the series.

LOVE IT CAN’T WAIT FOR IT TO HAPPEN……WE NEED A NEW SPIN TO WHERE IT ALL CAME FROM….AND MY OH MY WHO IS THIS MARCEL DUDE……….gorgeous in every possible way…….no doubt ……does anyone have any thoughts on this one???? And will any of our vampire diary cast members make appearances like say Nina because she is “Katherine” and she was around then running from Klaus ……will she have had a special relationship with this Marcel person then?????? OH MY GOD THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS…..and Mikeal will have to come back (Sabatian) OK LETS GET THESE WRITERS AND CAMERAS ROLLING!!!!!!!!
Love the idea. But I do want all the Originals ( Elija, Kol and Finn and Becca) and not just Klaus. Since his character is so ancient, they’re many, many stories they can do with him. I DO think they may have to make him a bit less “evil,” but yes, I have grown fond of Klaus and his kin. They can also do crossovers with Vampire Diaires! Go for it!
Also guess it means all the remaining Originals survive this season.
Before this spin off Haley has to DIE!! For what she did to Tyler only 1person can get the truth to Klaus that is Caroline. She’s able to make him listen to the truth. I don’t know how many people have noticed this look at Caroline’s face the when she’s w/Tyler then look @ her face when she’s w/Klaus. There’s a huge difference Tyler isnt the one she’s in love with!! Sure she loves him but she’s in love w/Klaus.

Love it. The originals really bring out the excitement of the story. Put plenty of flashbacks in it and no matter what ill be siked!! And please get Elena’s head out of her ass and back with Stefan where she belongs!!!

@ samantha…….lol about Elena’s head……..but I am afraid that head has gotten too big so there lies the false hope that she will be back with Stefan…….besides he needs someone new……………it’s so over with Elena..she has only proved that it was all bullshit in season one,two and three her love for him………:(
Why would Hayley be in a show about original vampires? She is neither an original or a vamprire. Unless her dead parents are Ester and whoever Klaus wolf dad was. We assume she is 20, but she could be a very old werewolf.

Dumb.. Why write a series about the originals when The Vampire Diaries already is taking way to much time with their story line as it is? I miss Season 2….. I mean everybody was badass back then and Klaus was like the big bad wolf. Now, He is like a lost little puppy with an anger problem. haha

That would be completely awsome I am up for anything to do with the Originals, however, whenever there is a spin off series, it usually means the impending death of the original. I don’t know about anyone else but I am looking forward too a good (minimum) 8 season’s of VD

They need to get rid of Hayley before I would consider watching. No clue why they would bring her over to the spinoff, let alone as a ‘headliner.’ Ugh.
