Since I did a picspam post for Paul Wesley (Stefan) it was only fair that I also do one for Ian Somerhalder (Damon). I think he’s going to be perfect as Damon. No, he’s not the Damon from the books but I can totally seem him bringing that whole sexy evil thing to the show.

I agee with Sass he would have made a better stefan way better looking and those eyes !!! Looking at him reminds me of the decription of Stefan in the book more than Damon.
I know I’m probably going to be hyper critical over all of this, so I’m trying to keep an open mind. Is he hot? Heck yes. however njgrl36 is right. Not so much with the Damon, more STefan, however I’m willing to believe there’s makeup and hair dye in hollywood still, so…. there’s me being open minded.
I think Ian is the perfect choice for Damon. Of course, in Lost he played a totally cutie, but he can play also the ohter part from this. He’ll suprise us. I love him and every movie of him. He’ll rock as Damon!! *smiling from a freaky fan*
He makes me think of Cillian Murphy. I think that he will be just fine in the role of Damon, even though his eyes are blue instead of brown/black as in the book, but again…there are contacts in Hollywood. Too bad they can’t find a better looking Stefan.

As far as dark looks go, I think he makes a perfect Damon. Now although he does not have the deep eyes as Damon had throughout the novels..looking at Ian now gives me the impression that he ‘is’ the “perfect Damon”. They could have casted a ‘better’ looking Stefan though.
I’d have to agree with you on there, but Steven Strait in my opinion makes a better Damon. Yet at the same time…Ian Somerhalder could of been the perfect Stefan as well. But oh well.

I love the series!!!!!!!!! I haven’t read the books yet, but I think the casting is GREAT! Ian plays Damon really good. He’s my favorite character, because you are wondering what his motives are constantly. Paul is a great Stefan because he totally pulls off that restraint and righteousness. They are HAWTTTTTT! And just plain AWSUMMMM!

I think the cast is perfect for their parts. I love both Stefan and Damon. At first I wanted Damon to go away because he was ruining things for Stefan and making trouble. But, now I love him. He can bite me and turn me into a vampire any time! Ian you are the hottest.
