TV Guide has some more Season 6 scoop from Julie Plec. Where Damon and Bonnie are will be answered quickly!

What can you tell me about the new season of The Vampire Diaries? — Brittany

When executive producer Julie Plec told us that the mystery of where Bonnie and Damon are would be answered quickly, she wasn’t lying: You’ll definitely know before the end of the second episode. But pay close attention: Although the setting may look familiar, the duo is definitely in a place that’s foreign to them. Perhaps it’s not the where that matters at all!

lilslim142000: Do you have any news on who will be the new Big Bad on #TVD?

You betcha! (This show is not Fargo.) I posed that very question to TVD‘s fancy-pants boss Julie Plec in between begging for her to keep Alaric alive forever and badgering her for scoop on when Delena will reunite. “There is a big bad. it’s a long, slow-burn mythology that will unfold over the course of the entire season and will really impact each of our characters in deep ways and it’s smart and it’s interesting and it’s small, which I like,” she teases. “Instead of trying to top ourselves year to year, we try to scale back and see if we can keep it really personal and rooted in character.” Right. But back to that whole Delena thing…

Today, The Vampire Diaries cast and producer Julie Plec took the stage. Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Kat Graham and surprise guest, Matt Davis were on hand to answer questions about their characters in the upcoming season 6. TV Line, Zap2It, TV Guide and EW have recapped the panel for us. Check out a snippet from TV Line.

“It’s been enough time for everyone to make some big choices in their life,” previewed executive producer Julie Plec, at the show’s Comic-Con panel on Saturday. In the aftermath of the Season 5 ender, everyone is dealing with the loss in different ways. “Some are doing it very well, and some are not doing it very well at all.”

Added star Nina Dobrev: “[Elena is] definitely not in a happy place. She has a strange, confusing way of dealing with her grief,” which does not include comfort sex with a new guy, for the record.

E!Online caught up with Julie Plec to talk TVD Season 6. Check out what Julie had to say about Bonnie and Damon and whether they will return.

We’ll still be seeing Ian and Kat right? Right?! Pointing and laughing at you forever if you thought TVD was really going to let Smolderhotter Somerhalder go! You’ll see enough of them to make you happy and more as it goes along. They are by no means going to be off the air for six episodes,” Plec assured. “The mystery is where are they, what happened, are they dead, not dead, and what the hell are they going to do together, those two of all people?”

So how exactly are Stefan and Elena dealing with their grief? “It’s surprising, only in that it’s not instantly what you’d expect,” Plec teased. “They’re both grieving, but they’re both coping with their grief in very specific and not necessarily conventional ways.” And Plec noted that Stefan “particularly is surprising.”
