Thanks to TV Shows on DVD, we have the brand new cover art and release date for The Vampire Diaries Complete 3rd Season. The DVD, and Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital combo are set to be released September 11, 2012.

For those of you that haven’t already pre-ordered your Vampire Diaries Season 2 DVD or Blu-Ray from Amazon, you can now purchase your copy. The DVD/Blu-Ray is available in stores today.

Thanks to our Twitter pal, Zach for letting us know that in the advertisement for Target, there would be exclusive content (a 45 minute bonus disc). And also, thanks to Vampire-Diaries.net for letting us know that the Target Exclusive content is the 2010 Vampire Diaries Comic Con panel. Right now we are getting reports that the exclusive content will only be available on the DVDs and not the Blu-Ray version. We will keep you guys posted if we hear anything different.

UPDATE ON TARGET DVDS & BLU-RAYS: Thanks to Zach again for sending us a pic of his Vampire Diaries Season 2 Blu-ray, that DOES include the bonus disc advertised by and exclusive to Target. Also, @tvdnews says they are getting reports that some Blu-rays from Target do not include it, and are not marked with a Bonus Disc sticker. So just make sure you get the one WITH the sticker guys! And they now have confirmation that the Bonus Disc is the 2010 Vampire Diaries Comic Con panel moderated by Marcos Siega.
