Vampire Diaries At Comic-Con 2010: E!Online Interviews

E!Online‘s Kristin Dos Santos chats it up with Ian, Paul, Nina, Steven and Kevin in the press room at Comic-Con. Here’s a great interview with Ian. He talks about the fans and makes the greatest statement when Kristin asks a question about whether he is able to walk through without getting mobbed. Here’s what he says,

“It’s not mobbed, it’s just a lot of enthusiasm in here. I think that people who complain about amazing fans appreciating what you are doing, and being happy and coming up to you, I think it’s lame (insert adorable Damon eye roll here) when people complain about that.”

Michael Trevino Now Confirmed for UK’s Insurgence Bloodlines

Thanks to Siaan with Rogue Events for giving us the heads up on this great news! Michael Trevino has now been confirmed for the Insurgence Bloodlines event, a convention for The Vampire Diaries and Smallville fans in the UK. The event will take place September 10 – 12, 2010 at the Thistle Hotel in London Heathrow. Paul Wesley was previously confirmed for the event, along with Smallville’s Michael Rosenbaum. Here are the details of the event and the info on Michael.

We are pleased to announce that we are holding a convention for fans of The Vampire Diaries and Smallville under the name INSURGENCE. It takes place on the weekend of 10th – 12th September 2010 and we are holding the convention at the fantastic Thistle Hotel in London Heathrow.

Please note all guests appear subject to professional work commitments and as such please remember you are booking for the Insurgence Convention and not one or more guest, therefore as per our Terms and Conditions refunds will not be given if a guest pulls out.

Please welcome Michael Trevino as our 3rd special guest. Since the fall of 2009, Michael has appeared as Tyler Lockwood in the highly successful CW series, The Vampire Diaries, based on the original books by L. J. Vampire Diaries Cast in Melbourne – Recap By Paul Wesley Australia

Here’s a portion of a great recap from Jacqui of Paul Wesley Australia! She was fortunate to attend the event in Mebourne. Also Jacqui was the winner in the video contest for Paul Wesley’s intro. Check out her photo opp pic with him below and how he signed it! So happy for her!

For Americans, yesterday was Independence Day — for the Australian fans of The Vampire Diaries in Melbourne — it was the day their wildest dreams came true.

Twitter is thriving today with tweets from fans who attended both the Sydney and Melbourne leg of the convention, there’s a thousand stories all running at once about moments with Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, Michael Trevino and Paul Wesley and they all, however retold, share the same words; you hear them again and again:

Beautiful. Charming. Lovely. Gracious. Impossibly gorgeous.

And the thing of it is, with this cast, there’s not a word of it that isn’t the absolute truth. If I learned anything at all yesterday it’s that this is a bunch of actors who feel completely indebted to their fan-base for all the support they’ve given their show and those don’t come across as empty words from the likes of Damon Salvatore himself, Ian Somerhalder, ‘without you guys,’ he said during his Q & A session, ‘there wouldn’t be a show’.

Here are the winners of the Hub Productions Video contest! Each video was played before each guest came on stage for their individual Q&A with the fans. Vampire Diaries Cast Take on Australia!

As you all know, the Vampire Diaries Cast, Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and Michael Trevino all flew out to Australia this past week to represent The Vampire Diaries at the Hub Productions Vampire Diaries Fan Event in Sydney and then in Melbourne. We covered the whole event via Twitter. And there are so many tweets and pics out there, too many to post! But I’ve been retweeting on Twitter what I find, so if you aren’t following us, you need to now at @tvdfansonline.

Here are a few pics courtesy of Portrait Magazine at the Sydney event. And speaking of them, you need to head on over to their site, they have a poll for Top 10 TV BFF, and you need to vote for Elena/Bonnie or Bonnie/Caroline. Also, they have a poll in their sidebar for who should be on their August cover, and Ian, Nina and Paul are all listed, so go vote for one of them! Ian is winning at the moment!
