This was posted last week, but I missed it while I was out of town. In honor of “Black History Month”, Katerina Graham was named as one of TV’s Rising Black Actors: Young, Gifted and African-American on AOL Television. Congrats!

Katerina Graham

Who She Plays: The fiercely loyal, psychic young witch Bonnie in The CW’s hot supernatural series ‘The Vampire Diaries.’

Why You Should Know Her: A true triple threat, 20-year-old Graham is a model, dancer and singer who most recently collaborated with Will.I.Am. She’s set to star in Cedric the Entertainer’s new comedy ‘Chicago Pulaski Jones,’ the college crime drama ‘The Roommate’ and ‘Bleachers,’ a loose remake of ‘The Breakfast Club.’

As if we had any doubts…

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – The CW has issued early series renewals to five shows — freshman breakout hit “The Vampire Diaries,” Josh Schwartz’s “Gossip Girl,” sophomore soap “90210,” veteran drama “Supernatural” and the network’s flagship reality staple “America’s Next Top Model.”

All will return next fall.

“Vampire Diaries” quickly became The CW’s most-watched show, averaging 4.6 million viewers. On Thursdays, “Diaries” has aided “Supernatural,” which has improved over last season among the network’s target demo of women 18-34.

Absent from the list: “Melrose Place,” which is considered unlikely to return; “Smallville,” which is very likely to get a 10th season; and “bubble” shows that could go either way, “One Tree Hill” and “Life Unexpected.”

I’ve known about this since my set visit, but wasn’t given the go ahead to post about it. But now, since it’s pretty much been announced by all the other fansites and Julie Plec mentioned in the Episode 14 “Fool Me Once” preview video that the episode will be their “winter finale”, I’m sure it’s safe to go ahead and mention it. Yes, after Episode 14 that will air on February 11th, The Vampire Diaries will go on a 6 week hiatus, and will not return until March 25th. Trust me, I’m not happy about this either. These hiatuses are no fun at all. But the Winter Olympics will be going on and this will also ensure that the show will be on air during May Sweeps. Go ahead and get all your frustrations out in the comment section…

FearNet has listed their Top 9 Favorite Spooky, Scary, Bloody Moments of 2009 and The Vampire Diaries’ “Haunted” weighs in at #9.

The year is winding down, and it’s time to look back on 2009 with our favorite spooky, scary, bloody moments on television.  Some of them are the usual suspects, like Dexter and True Blood.  Others are a little unlikely.  Read on for our list presented in alphabetical order and let us know if you agree…

The Vampire Diaries – “Haunted”
In this pivotal episode, Vicki, a main character dies.  But she doesn’t go quietly.  She had spent the last few episodes dealing with “the change” which left her frantic with confusion and bloodlust.  Stefan desperately tries to help her through the change, first by trying to prevent her from going full-vamp, then by trying to teach her that a diet of only animal blood is possible.  But when Vicki’s bloodlust gets out of control and she brutally attacks Elena, Stefan doesn’t hesitate to stake her.

The CW to Rebroadcast All 10 Episodes of Freshman Hit “The Vampire Diaries,”

Airing Two Episodes Each Night (8:00-10:00p.m. ET/PT) From

Monday, Dec. 14 Through Friday, Dec. 18

November 16, 2009 (Burbank, CA) ? The CW Network today announced plans for a special Vampire Diaries Marathon starting on Monday, December 14.  This week-long event offers fans the opportunity to relive The Vampire Diaries saga from the very beginning and allows the uninitiated the chance to get into one of TV’s breakout hits.

Airing two episodes each night from Monday, Dec. 14 through Friday, Dec. 18 (8:00-10:00p.m. ET/PT) beginning with the season premiere episode, The CW will rebroadcast every episode of its smash hit The Vampire Diaries in consecutive order across its entire primetime schedule that week.  After just 10 episodes, The Vampire Diaries has become The CW’s most-watched and highest-rated series among adults 18-34 this season.

Based on the best-selling series of books by L. J. Smith, The Vampire Diaries is the story of two vampire brothers obsessed with the same beautiful girl, and battling to control the fate of an entire town.  Beautiful high school student Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev, “DeGrassi: The Next Generation”) has no way of knowing that the handsome and mysterious new boy in school, Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley, “Mad Men”), is a centuries-old vampire.  While Stefan struggles to live peacefully among humans, his older brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder, “Lost”) is the embodiment of vampire violence and brutality.  Now these two vampire brothers ? one good, one evil ? are at war for Elena’s soul and for the souls of her friends, family and all the residents of the small town of Mystic Falls.

The Vampire Diaries is from Alloy Entertainment and Bonanza Productions Inc in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios with executive producers Kevin Williamson (“Scream,” “Dawson’s Creek”), Julie Plec (“Kyle XY,” “Wasteland”), Leslie Morgenstein (“Gossip Girl,” “Private”) and Bob Levy (“Gossip Girl,” “Privileged”).

Today Katerina Graham attended the Children Mending Hearts ‘Please Mr. President’ workshop at the Prince George Ballroom on November 15, 2009 in New York City.  Today she tweeted:

“I’m in New York for the Children Mending Hearts event. Its an organization that helps homeless children & Congo refugees including rescued child soldiers & abducted girls. Earlier this year I spent the day at the rescue mission w the children & we wrote letters, painted etc. to bring awareness to the cause.”

Here’s a couple of photos from the event!  Doesn’t she look stunning??

UPDATE: Well…here’s your proof folks. Vampire-Diaries.net has a scan of next week’s Soap Opera Weekly featuring an interview with Julie Plec and confirms the show will be on an 8 week hiatus after next week’s episode. Read the very first paragraph.

The word on the net, is that after next week’s episode “The Turning Point”, The Vampire Diaries will be on hiatus until January 14, 2010.  The Futon Critic tweeted the bombshell last night:

“This just in: the November 19 episode of SUPERNATURAL (and presumably VAMPIRE DIARIES) will be the last original until January 14″

As soon as I get confirmation, I’ll update this post.  If this is true, it will be very sad times indeed.  That’s an awfully long time to wait huh?  I can see them not having a show the week of Thanksgiving, but nothing throughout the entire month of December??  It is true that we currently don’t have any other episode titles or summaries though, so it actually makes sense.  But I’m also surprised that we haven’t heard anything about it too.  Just wanted to give you guys the heads up.

vampire-diariesHey all you UK Vampire Diaries fans!  The UK’s Unreality Primetime announced that The Vampire Diaries is set to air in the UK January of 2010!  Still checking around for an official release, will update ASAP. For all I know this could be old news, but I’m pretty sure we didn’t have a official month for launch yet. Check out the scoop!

The Vampire Diaries, the hottest new show to come out of the US, is coming to ITV2 in the New Year!

Created by Kevin Williamson, the writer behind the big screen smash Scream and TV hit Dawson’s Creek, The Vampire Diaries has set a ratings record as the most watched series premiere in the history of The CW channel (home of Gossip Girl.)

Starring IAN SOMERHALDER (Boone from Lost), NINA DOBREV (Away From Her) and PAUL WESLEY (Smallville), all 22 episodes of this glossy new series will be showing on ITV2.

Over the past few days, both Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder finally acquired their actual names on Twitter. (@ninadobrev & @iansomerhalder)  They are still waiting on their official verified stamp, but they thought they needed to take the matter into their own hands. So tonight Nina tweeted a really cute pic of she and Ian Somerhalder, she said:

STILL waiting 2get the official ‘verified’ stamp-but until then-heres a ‘personal stamp’ from @iansomerhalder &I! RT! http://pic.gd/4d9a3a

EW‘s Michael Ausiello reported today that Sean Faris (Formerly of Reunion) will join the cast of The Vampire Diaries!  Check out the scoop!

sean-faris-vampire-diariesThirsty for some Vampire Diaries scoop? Former Reunion eye candy Sean Faris is sinking his teeth into a juicy multi-episode arc on the fangtastic CW hit, sources confirm to me exclusively.

Faris will play Ben, an ex-high school football star-turned-bartender at the Mystic Grill. “He’s Matt’s buddy,” says a Vampire insider. “He gets entangled in the group when a broke Matt takes a job at the Mystic Grill.”

The Vamp source also hints at a possible romance between Ben and one of the show’s females. But which one? Let the speculation begin in the comments!

The Vampire Diaries Scores A Full Season!!

October 21st, 2009 | Posted by VDO in News - (3 Comments)

Well…it’s a official! EW’s Ausiello reported today that The Vampire Diaries has been officially picked up for a full season. That means instead of 13 episodes, we will have 22 episodes of this amazing TV show that I am completely and utterly in love with!!! Here’s the scoop!

This just in: Sources confirm that The CW has picked up The Vampire Diaries for a full season and Melrose Place for, well, a sorta-full season.

The back-nine order for Diaries was a no-brainer. The Kevin Williamson-produced thriller scored The CW’s best premiere ratings ever and has been a consistent demo dynamo on Thursday night.

E!Online has posted their list of Fall TV’s Fresh New Faces, and Nina Dobrev is on the list!  And we would be inclined to agree!  Congrats Nina!  A huge thanks to KEMattison for the heads up!!
