Here are two Malese Jow interviews from Global Townhall and MyFanbase. Check out what Malese has to say about how she handles rejection in the business, her fitness and beauty tips, and she also discusses her music and why she loves platforms like Myspace to promote herself.

Gabrielle Reilly: What advice can you offer people on emotionally handling the word “no” and the rejections that the entertainment industry (and life) throws at everyone sometimes?

Malese Jow: Well, to be in this business you can’t take rejection too personally. Coming to grips with how many people are going after the same roles will make you realize that it’s more like a business decision and nothing personal; and more than anything it should make you want to fight even harder for the next opportunity that comes along.  Your mental “well-being” should never be based on your success in Hollywood, for it’s definitely a roller coaster!

MyFanBase: What has been the best experience so far as a musician

Malese: I love everything about being a musician. From writing sessions, to performing on stage. The most surreal experience is having people respond so positively to your music. Singing along, doing covers on youtube, saying that the lyrics touched them or helped them through something – It’s such an amazing feeling.

MyFanBase: What do you think, as an artist, about platforms like MySpace?

Malese: I’m all about internet platforms! If it’s done in a classy and safe way, the internet is the best place to put yourself out there, and be able to get immediate feedback.

Check out Malese Jow’s Official Team Anna video in all it’s glory! As we mentioned before Malese Jow posted a video stating she wanted pics and videos to create a video to introduce her new song “Red Light”. Well here is the finished product, and I think I just might recognize some familiar faces in there. And LOVE the new song Malese!

Check out this great interview over at MTV’s Hollywood Crush with Malese Jow.  She talks about how she didn’t find out she was playing a vampire until she was actually on set! And she reveals how they do the really cool veiny vampire eyes!! Check it out!

Malese recalled to Hollywood Crush that when she auditioned for the part, all she had to go on was a short description that said Anna was supposed to be a shy and geeky girl. “There was really nothing in there that made me think that she was going to be a vampire,” Malese said. “Once I got to the producer session, they said, ‘Can you read it a little more menacing?’ and I was like ‘Huh, ok.’ I didn’t know that she was going to be a vampire until the day I got on set they were like, ‘You’re going to be fitted for contacts.’”

Speaking of those vampire contacts, Malese said they’re “very, very hard to put in because they cover your whole eye.” The fangs, which are molded to her teeth, are real too (“I’m hoping that I can get to keep them!”), but the rest of the vampire look (the creepy, veiny eyes) is a special effect. “I thought they were going to draw red eyes and put in the veins, but it’s actually little black dots, two above your eyes and two below your eyes, and then they CGI everything.”

Today we got a really cool tweet from Malese Jow, who plays “Anna” on The Vampire Diaries. She wants YOU to send in a very brief video or picture supporting “Team Anna”!! Check out the details in the video below!

Here is a quick rundown of the rules:

1. The words “Team Anna” must appear in the video/picture.

2. Can either be a picture or video. Video Submissions must have a duration of no more than 10 secs preferably.

4. The more creative the better, will better your chances in making it in the video.
