Some hope for Delena fans? Via TV Guide’s Mega Buzz:

Is there hope for Damon and Elena on Vampire Diaries— Carla

NATALIE: “In the lifetime of the series, every fan who ‘ships either side of the triangle will have moments of hope,” executive producer Julie Plec says. Does that mean we should stop asking? Well… “Stefan, Elena and Damon are a series-long journey for us,” she says. “There are bigmoments coming up all around for them, lots of evolution of friendships and relationships, and questions of who loves who.” You heard it, Dalena fans — moments!

Wow…we have more from Zap2It‘s interview with Julie Plec. This time Julie discusses that epic monologue by Damon at the end of “The Descent” and will Elena be able to forgive Stefan’s past?

“We just sort of added it in,” Plec says. “Kevin [Williamson] wrote his speech at the end, which was just brilliance in action. It changed everything. It really reinvigorated all of us for that character because Damon is all about how deliciously bad he can be and how epically goodhe can be, and how the two are always at odds with each other.”

Somerhalder has his work cut out for him on Damon’s journey this season. Somerhalder has told us several times that Damon’s more vulnerable scenes take a toll on him. Things are only going to get more difficult for him.

“It’s no secret that having to play emotional Damon makes Ian really uncomfortable as a person, as an actor,” Plec says. “It’s hard, because you have to tap into your own emotional stuff, and now we keep challenging him. We’re going to keep making him dig deeper and deeper.”

Zap2It chatted with Julie Plec recently, and she dished on what’s to come as far as the Tyler/Caroline/Matt triangle. Will Matt finally have his moment?

“Matt’s been kind of busing tables on the sidelines for a good portion of this season, trying to understand what’s going on in this non-relationship with this girl that he cares about but doesn’t understand,” Plec says. “We’re about to really heat that up and have him start asking a lot more questions. He’s really trying to get to the bottom of Caroline’s feelings for him and where he wants to them to be as a couple.”

Now that Tyler’s in the doghouse, Matt and Caroline may have another chance at a real relationship. “In the last episode before we go away for hiatus, there’s a really great Matt and Caroline moment that I think will make you very happy,” Plec says.

There has been so much buzz this week with all the new interviews popping up from the cast and producers due to The Vampire Diaries returning tomorrow. So much that I figured that I would just go ahead and collect them all here for you into one post. We’ve got interviews from Julie Plec, Candice Accola, Kevin Williamson and Michael Trevino.

Speaking of Michael, be sure and tune into KTLA tomorrow morning, January 27th at 7:45 AM PST. You can watch their live feed if you don’t live in L.A. So don’t miss out!

And in these first two interviews, Michael Trevino chats with the L.A. Times and AOL’s TV Squad about the upcoming episodes and teases about how things might play out involving Tyler’s new knowledge of the other vampires and the Curse of the Sun and the Moon.

Via L.A. Times:

It seems there’s a territorial war developing between the vampires and the werewolves. Is Tyler going to be struggling with having to choose a side?

He does. He’s right in the middle. It’s a tug of war between somebody that he’s super-close with now, Caroline, who is a vampire, and then all this new information that he’s learning from Jules, who is a werewolf. It’s a new chapter in his life because he’s gone through this transformation. So now it’s like maybe he doesn’t have a choice. He’s just questioning himself and questioning the intentions of everybody and finding out who’s coming from a good place and who’s coming from a bad place. He does make a decision in the new episodes to come. He does make a decision finally on what he wants to do and is he going to stick with Caroline and just not be involved with these other werewolves, whoever they are, wherever they came from. Or is he going to stick to the wolves and learn more about himself and stay with the pack and not have anything to do with vampires even if that means not talking to Caroline anymore. These decisions are going to be made.

Our good buddy Emma Loggins, of Fanbolt had the chance to visit the set of The Vampire Diaries back in December, and here are the first interviews of many more to come. Julie Plec teases about a particular moment they envision for the ending of the show, and Ian Somerhalder chats about making out with Elena.

The transformation of Caroline was a huge game-changer for the show. Any chance of another game-changer before the end of the season? Julie tells us yes, “We try not to do it just to do it. With Caroline it was a very strategic choice, because we really wanted to mine that character and that actress for all that she was worth. And it has paid off for us in spades creatively. We’re really proud of it and her.”Julie paused, “We have all kinds of things plotted out for the finale, and if even half of it ends up in there…”

What about the bigger picture for the show? Is there an ending (not that we want to think of that!) that they’re working towards? “We don’t have a timeline,” Julie states, “But we have a moment. We have the moment that we want to get to.”

So speaking of gorgeous chicks, how does Ian personally wanted to see the Damon and Elena relationship progress? “I just want him to make out with her eventually.” Ian paused. “I mean Stefan gets both of them, and I think it’s just time to pay the fiddler. I have no idea how that’s ever going to happen by the way. I would just like to see him be in her good graces, for her to see that he’s not such a dick… but the problem is that he is. So I don’t really know where I want that to go. All I know is that him to protect her.”

Leave it to EW to get even more inside information about the upcoming reveal of Damon Savatore’s bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom will make “its” debut in next week’s episode.

Like many viewers of The Vampire Diaries, I’ve been wondering where Damon sleeps when he’s not having sex on the living room floor. We’ll get our answer when the show returns with new episodes next week. Exec producer Julie Plec says they’ve been waiting to build that set until they had a reason to need it — and apparently they found it. Ian Somerhalder admits the addition took him by surprise: “I never imagined Damon having a bedroom,” he says. “I figured he always slept up in a rafter or somewhere atop of an oak tree. I honestly didn’t know.” But he’s more than happy with what Plec, exec producer Kevin Williamson, and production designer Garreth Stover created for him. “By virtue of the fact that Damon is not the most sentimental individual, he doesn’t keep anything from the past. It’s not a room full of antiquities and memories, such as Stefan’s,” Somerhalder says. “But it’s big, it’s very masculine, and it’s classy.” It’s also sexy. “The one really amazing thing, of course,” he continues, “[is] they had this bed custom-made. This thing, I’m not even kidding you, it’s gigantic. You splice together two king-sized beds… Damon could fit an entire sorority on this bed, which I’m sure at some point he will.” (Williamson likes to refer to it as Damon’s “throne.”)

TV Fanatic FINALLY posted the 2nd part to their exclusive interview with Julie Plec. Thanks to Matt for the heads up. Julie talks about Katherine, Elijah, Luka and answers the one question you Delena fans have ALL been waiting for, will Damon and Elena ever get together? Read on to find out…and sound off in the comments, but PLEASE be respectful in your discussion. Thank you! :)

In a summation, what can you tell us about the second half of season two?

We’ve set a lot of things in motion, and we’re going to come to the end of what we’re calling our werewolf chapter, which will really take that story to a really dark place and really change a lot of characters lives, not necessarily in a good way. We are going to dig deeper into the secrets of our new witches and what Bonnies role is going to be in their story, and of course, it’s all about the fear of the impending Klaus, and who’s going to be fighting on who’s side, who’s bond is with who, who’s going to betray whom, and is this curse going to be lifted at the hands of a sacrifice that would kill Elena. We’re full steam ahead.

Some fans have to know: Will Elena and Damon EVER get together?

If at any point in the life of this series, that could go on forever and ever, I think that if we didn’t go down that road eventually, we wouldn’t be doing our jobs right. But, I would never say when or how or to what end. I can only say that it’s a show predicated on a girl coming back to life and her development of love for one brother who then, because of who she is, changes the life of the other brother and that’s our show. There are roads we can go down with that in the future, for sure, so stay tuned.

Check out this interview from TV Guide. Julie Plec discusses the ongoing casting for Klaus and how in the next episode, Damon and Elena are “thrown together” to deal with Rose, an “invalid” vampire, which results in cementing their relationship even further.

“There is a devolution of Rose’s sanity and Rose’s character, as a result of the bite, which brings a lot of danger into Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) world and into everybody else’s world,” says Plec. “The follow up from that is going to be pretty extreme.” And then there’s werewolf Jules (Michaela McManus). “She knows now that Mason’s dead, and she’s going to have something to say about that. What she chooses to do and how she chooses to respond is big and it’s bold, and it takes us for the next couple episodes on a journey that’s pretty intense.”

And, finally, there’s some good news for Team Damon. “Elena and Stefan (Paul Wesley) are happily back together, but as a result of what Rose is going through, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena find themselves sort of thrown together, trying to deal with this invalid vampire,” says Plec. “They go through a pretty rough emotional experience together which, of course, cements their relationship even further.”
