On December 10th, Kat Graham and Ian Somerhalder hosted the event The Ripple Effect, a charity dinner to benefit The Water Project. Several cast members and crew from The Vampire Diaries were also in attendance to show their support for the cause. Michael Trevino, Nina Dobrev, Julie Plec, Kevin Williamson. As well as former guest stars Bianca Lawson and Arielle Kebble. The CW has just recently launched a new feature on their website, Causes to Care About. The page includes several CW actors and information about each cause they support. Vampire Diaries cast members Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, Kat Graham and Joseph Morgan are listed.

Fans can go to causes.cwtv.com to find videos from stars of many of The CW’s primetime shows, in which each actor talks about why their chosen charity is one close to their heart. The site will also link to each actor’s chosen charity, so fans can easily donate directly to them.

Heads up New Jersey! Creation Entertainment announced a few weeks ago, that they will be bringing their Official Vampire Diaries Convention to Parsippany, New Jersey and San Francisco, California. As of yet, no guests have been announced for San Francisco, but today, it was announced that both Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder will be appearing at the convention in New Jersey.
The convention is scheduled for August 18 – 19, 2012. Paul and Ian will be appearing on Sunday (Aug 19) only. More guests will be announced later. The event will take place at the luxurious Hilton Parsippany Hotel. A special rate for convention patrons will be available.

The Carmel Art and Film Festival will recognize Ian Somerhalder during its Founders’ Party on Saturday evening, October 15, at the Carmel Art Association. The party, which is for Patrons of the festival and invited guests only, is part of the public five day festival showcasing independent film and contemporary art as well as music concerts, art auctions, photo exhibits, “Art in the Park” and the “Conversations and Encounters” lecture series.
