Check out this brand new promo poster with Elena and Damon! I’ll be honest, I’ve never been fond of these promotional photos they did at Greystone. They just don’t reflect the characters of the show. Thanks to Anastasia for letting us know that “The Deuce” out of Denver, Colorado was having this Battle of the CW Hotties poll. Wish we would have known about it sooner, and we could have gotten Damon in this final running. Right now Elena is winning for the ladies, but Stefan really needs you guys to mobilize and get ‘er done!! :)
I’m excited to announce our very first guest post on Vampire Diaries Online! We’ve been wanting to do guest posts for a while now, so when my new Twitter bud @SafiTaffy99 contacted me about doing one, I jumped at the chance! He has chosen to remain anonymous, which I told him would be completely fine with me. In his post, he touches on what drew him in to watching the show and gives his perspective on Stefan and Elena’s relationship.
So I’ve got a confession to make. I like TVD – no, wait, scratch that – I actually love TVD. *sigh* much better. I really needed to get that off my chest. But here’s the kicker – I’m actually a guy that actually enjoys watching a TV show which for all intents and purposes I should be shunning. I mean c’mon, what “full grown alpha male” in his right mind would ever admit to liking this show? Especially since it’s supposedly for the “screaming sappy girl fans of Twilight” – ok that was a bit harsh, but you get my point. Yet here I am readily admitting my admiration of all things TVD. Could I possibly be insane? Read on dear friends read on.
So how did this all start? Was I compelled or perhaps turned? Actually, I was channel surfing one night when out of the blue I came across the promo for the TVD pilot. Like the typical guy that I am, I was immediately drawn to Elena and had to find out what this show was all about. After I had finished watching the pilot I found myself thinking about the episode long after the credits had rolled especially the relationship between Elena and Stefan.
I have a couple of videos made by fans that I would like to take the time to spotlight. I love seeing these, and over the past couple of days, I’ve had two sent to me that are so amazing!! I should have posted this ages ago….a few weeks ago, when Nina, Ian and Paul were in London promoting The Vampire Diaries launch in the UK, I happened to meet this amazing person via Twitter who just so happened to be on her way to the Apple store Q&A the cast was doing in London. We connected and she agreed to record the entire Q&A for all of us, and we posted the videos that evening. What I didn’t know until I happened to check out her YouTube account was that my new friend Anna had posted a series of videos of really cool makeup looks. And right after the Q&A she said she would be recording an Elena Gilbert look. Here’s Accessorial Anna’s idea of a very natural “Elena Gilbert” look, and she shows you how to create it! Not to mention, she dedicates the video to me and all her new Twitter friends, which to this day, I find very touching. Thank you Anna, and so sorry I was late posting this.

We had an epiphany earlier this week: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Vampire Diaries and True Blood are all the same show (structurally speaking). All three vampire series are about an impossibly attractive and moderately magical heroine from small-town America who must balance the demands of friends and family with her problematic feelings for not one, but two, sexy local vampires: a broody good one with an itchy conscience and a snarky bad one who likes to, um, eat women.
So, between now and Halloween, we’ll be pitting the casts of our three favorite vampire shows (sorry Moonlight) against each other in a little fan challenge we’re calling Vampire Wars. We’re setting up fights between characters from BTVS, TVD and TB in five competitions over the coming days, and the best out of five wins. You have to vote early and often in all five categories if you want your show to take home the trophy.
First up, tell us which vampire-show leading lady is tops: Buffy, Elena or “Sookeh” Stackhouse…
